How much does it cost to paint your car another color?

I drive a silver 2006 mitsubishi eclipse and i really wanna paint it black. Roughly how much would it cost? How much does it cost to paint your car another color?
There's a huge range depending on how you want it to look when it's done. If you go the cheap route, like Maaco, man will you be sorry. Yes, they can paint an entire car for around $400 . . . but people will be asking if you did it yourself because it will look so terrible. Maaco also offers ';higher end'; paint jobs for up to $2,000, which is still cheap compared to competition, but their paint work is still garbage, just stay away from them.

Get it done by a decent body shop, if you don't know a reputable shop in your area then head to a dealer with a body shop, they're usually at least OK.

Expect to pay around $3,500 - $4,000 for a good job that includes things like door jambs, under hood and under trunk. Bear in mind, if you don't get a good paint job and/or you don't do the door jambs/under hood stuff, you'll drastically lower the resale value of your car.

If you'd like to add anything, like a racing stripe, now's the perfect time to do it. If it's just a stripe, it won't cost much extra, maybe an extra $200. Or . . . go crazy with color change, ghost flames, and a mural on the side with six layers of clear coat for $12,000.How much does it cost to paint your car another color?
It all depends on how much you want to spend. However with paint you definitely get what you pay for.

You can get a MAACO or Earl Sheib paint job for as little as a few hundred dollars. And it will look like a cheap paint job. You won't be satisfied.

However a quality paint job at a reputable body shop will cost from a few thousand dollars to several thousand dollars.

A few items about your request make this paint job cost even more.

You want to paint the car black. Black paint shows any minute imperfection on the body. Therefore the body must be in perfect condition to paint it black. This will take the body shop extra time therefore increasing the labor and material costs.

You are changing the color. When you change the color the door jams, trunk, under the hood, etc. must also be painted to match the exterior or the paint job won't look right. This also adds to the labor and material costs.
A good paint job, one that uses top quality paint and leaves no telltale signs of the old color, can run up to $5,000. Just be aware that no aftermarket paint will be as good or as durable as the factory paint and further, when you go to sell it that paint job will devalue the car. You'd really be money ahead to swap it for a car in the color you want.
Is this Maaco? Does YA have a paint booth? Why arent you looking up body shops in your area or driving around calling for estimates? Theres different levels, paint qualities, etc - so you can go from $500 to $5000. Stop being lazy and do your own legwork
black isn't that bad. but it depends on how drastic the color change is. if you get it done properly its going to be expensive. like 1500 or more. theres a lot of work involved.
alot
