Should a carbon fiber hood be the same color as the body paint?

Im trying to convinve my dad to buy me a old honda prelude . The car is red but the carbon fiber hood is black. My dad is convinced that the hood should be the same color as the car and because of this, he wont buy the car. I said that he is wrong and thats just how the hood should be. Whos right?Should a carbon fiber hood be the same color as the body paint?
Usually the carbon fiber hood is kept black because its gets you ';street credit'; but you can and I've seen dozen of cars with painted carbon.

By adding a urethane additive to the paint will help it flex more to prevent the paint from cracking. Any competent body shop that has their act together would know about making your paint more flexible. It's slightly more expensive than 'regular' paint, but it will flex more and also buffs out very nice.

Race cars use carbon technology in parts such as fenders, bumpers and wings that are painted and cant even tell its Carbon Fiber by looking at it.Should a carbon fiber hood be the same color as the body paint?
you can actually get carbon fiber in many differant colors now adays but to answer your question you are right the hood is an add on and being carbon fiber it usually is black or grey, let your dad know that the carbon fiber hood is actually an upgrade and if he were to look up the price of an original hood and the carbon fiber the carbon fiber would most likely cost more. Tell your dad that the cabon fiber hood is actually usually put on because it's very durable but lightweight as oppsed to the heavy factory hood which would dent with less force it would take to damage carbon fiber.
yes, crabon fibre is suppose to be that color.i dont suggest painting over it.You neve know what chemical changes you might cause.

im pretty sure you can buy colored Carbon fibre, but it may still look a little off.

Itll get you MAD street cred with that CF hood.Next thing you wanna get is 14 inch wheels////////

no.tell him thats how racers drive in japan and show him pics of uthentic JDM cars.
i wont look good if the carbon fiber is the same color as the car its better if the car is red
carbon fiber is not supposed to be colored you wuldnt be able to tell it was carbon fiber and i dnt even think you can pain it but yes you are right it should not match the car
Your are right I dont think i have ever seen a carbon fiber hood that is the same color as a car. Most carbon fiber is always black and kinda grey. So you are right.
YOU are because a carbon fiber hood is supposed to be black.
you are, the carbon fiber hood is an add on, and its exposed to be that colour, you dont paint a carbon fiber hood.
You're right ! why buy carbon fiber for looks and then paint it when a fiberglass hood would be cheaper if its for saving weight.
He's right, the car should all be one color and not different colors like ricers do these days. You can still use a carbon fiber hood and paint it the color of the car but this is only used for weight reduction. Leave the carbon fiber for the expensive super cars.
