What paint color to use?

My room is directed to sunlight in the afternoon and it sometimes gets hot. What color of curtains is suitable to bounce off the heat and light? Or would there be better suggestions? Thanks! What paint color to use?
Use curtains with a liner layer, preferably light blocking. White on the exterior will help bounce the most heat and light outward, and since they are lined you can have any color you want on the interior!

Curtains are relatively simple to sew (a square with a couple of hems), but you can buy them anywhere. It you can't find lined curtains within your budget, try layered shower curtains (as long as the length works). What paint color to use?
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think ';tame teal'; (# 6757) might be a great choice with white curtains.

You can take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions %26amp; for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
You should buy some light blocking curtains. They sell them in many stores (including Walmart) and they are also energy efficient. They keep cool air and heat inside and prevent leaky windows. They are a bit pricey compared to other curtain panels, around $30 a panel. They are worth it though. They saved me about 20% on my energy bill every month!
Plant a tree outside. Seriously, this will help. Or get an awning. Or do what he said above me.
