What color should I paint my room? I have a blue navish carpet.?

Where i live i cant change the carpet due to the landlord but im stuck i do not know what color to paint my bedroom. I have mohagany furniture. What color should I paint my room? I have a blue navish carpet.?
There are some beautiful 'shadow' shades of white.. find one that will compliment both the color of your warm toned furniture and cool carpeting.

Off white
A deep burgandy may be the way to go. Look at a few more samples before your final decision. Good luck, and happy decorating!
try a real light blue and plenty of white trim on basebroads and windows and doors to take away the darkness and light pastly color wall paper on maybe one wall/ good lucky
There are as many ';good'; answers to this question as there are colors in the rainbow. The only colors that matter are the ones that make YOU happy. A gallon of white paint with 1/32nd of an ounce of Thalo Blue would work. It'll look white until placed against something blue or green. The color is so suttle that you cannot really see the difference when it stands by itself.
You should try a neutral shade, such as antique white. It will make the room look bigger and not so dark, being the carpet is dark and mahagany is dark. Try to find a corasponding border to tie your other colors in.
I love light green with dark blue! It will make your room look fresh and up to date, also! There are alot of accessories out in the stores that would go with this color scheme. White always works, but it's kind of boring. A nice bright but light green would surprise people, and give them the impression that you are a person who is in style and that likes to take a risk!
White will be nice. It will make the room look bigger and your mahogany furniture will stand out.
Try this

The two colors I recommend for anyone that has a difficult time deciding what is best are...... White, (cream) or light Beige the go good with everything and are good background colors
get creative with your own design of different blues...maybe one wall or area differently...then integrate white somehow..make it your own..have fun!
I think a nice, deep khaki would be pretty. Like khaki pants. Use accents of apple green in there (plants, decorative accents) to liven it up.
Teal
Try painting your walls a shade of gray. Accent your walls with blue paintings that go with your rug, add a gray area rug to go with the walls. You can also use blue place mats on your night stands, that adds color. But try a LIGHT grey wall. That would be nice
You can paint ur wall and ceiling with off white or yellow orange (pastel). If you color the wall with yellow orange (pastel), the ceiling is still off white. Then you can use blue of different shades bedsheets and pillows coordinated with color of curtains you would also use. That would come out beautiful for sure.
A light green goes well with a blue carpet. It gives the room a fresh feeling. You could then buy a border, that has all colors, blue, green and your furniture color, to blend everything together.

Have fun.
TAN OR CREAM COLOR
I'd suggest either a light shade of blue or white, anything other than that would look silly.
Try a real light mint green on one wall (the largest) then paint the others a ';Whisper Blue';. You can find wonderful color options at Lowes. Plus, you can have your own mixed if you take a sample in. You did not mention what type of room it is, so I'm assuming a bedroom. The two colors I mentioned are calming/soothing colors. Happy painting!
A cream or a khaki color, or possibly even a real light blue
I would go out and buy a painting drop cloth. You can buy these in some large sizes like 9ft by 12ft or bigger. Then you can paint it whatever color you want, top coat with some polyurethane and presto you have a room sized rug! For less than $50 you could have a new floor in your bedroom.

If you do that then you can choose whatever color you want for your walls. I saw this a few years ago on a home decor show. I want to do this for my kids' room. You could even do stripes, dots, or swirls. Get creative and have fun.
maybe something to match your armish curtains??
Light yellow would balance out the dark colors
Cream - white is too stark but cream with the right accents would look great
butter yellow
