My small kitchen is in need of updated. I have almond appliances and gray floor. I love warm colors. Do beiges and browns go well with gray floor. I also have a sage colored countertop. I thought about replacing it with a darker brown/creamy color one, but thought since my sage one looks new and less work would be better I could keep it. My kitchen is very small. I just have cabinets on one wall(112 inches length) I have no window above my sink so i have to huge blank spot. SHould paint it or put tile there for the backsplash? Would painting my lower and upper cabinets different shade of colors be bad idea? My sink is almond as well. My appliance are on the oppisite wall as the the cabinets so i am concentrating on cabinets/walls/countertop/backsplash.What colors to paint my walls and kitchen?
I would go with a slight contrast in wall color. It depends on what your cabinets look like, contrasting them will make them stand out. Keep in mind that a bright color will add the illusion of more space. What colors to paint my walls and kitchen?
Floresint pink and then black trim the goth look ya no?
I love the grey color idea, its a neutral but has character. A lighter shade than the floor. You can add some soft warm accent colors maybe a soft yellow and sage! I would not replace the countertopas it should look great with the grey floor and lighter walls. You do not say what your cabinets are now, but I would hold off on painting them until you see what the walls do for you. Over the sink, hmmm, I would look at some decorative stuff, maybe a picture of a vineyard or a woodsy print?
Try this!
Since you have alot going on here, just take a photo of the kitchen and post it in the makeover gallery at roomvues.
It will make it much easier to give you some good advice based on seeing the room.
Once in a while if the dilemma is quite challenging, they will feature it on the site. Pretty cool!
Hope this info will lead you in a positive direction.
Have you thought of a mid tone gray?
I consider gray a neutral as it goes with anything and should complimant your sage countertop as well as the gray flooring.
If you are consdiering painting your cabinets I would opt for black. An accent color such as a mustard gold or brick red would really pull this room together.
