What color should I paint my room?

I was thinking like a dark red, but I don't really want to do that anymore because my friend is painting her room that color. I don't really like girly stuff.. Any ideas?What color should I paint my room?

I don't suggest dark red because it will look like blood :|


and once, we painted a room like blood red and we couldn't sleep in it.. it gave us nightmares every single night :/ .. creepy eh?


I really like my room now though, I painted it like a nice bright red and white. I have 4 walls in my room so 2 are white and 2 are red and I really like it :D


Do something different, something that represents you.


You could always just paint your room white and have cool accessories like a colorful bedspread and funky pillows and photos and stuff.


Or you could do something like a wallpaper :]





I've also always liked the look of a nice blue with a nice green. Not like bright blue and bright green but like.. pale blue and pale green.. if that makes sense :P

Try doing something colorful without being obnoxious..Have three light, but still colorful walls and one accent wall. Like maybe the three walls a very light teal, and the accent wall a persimmon orange or pumpkin orange. Or just mix it up with any 2 colors you like..If you don't have just four walls, try maybe adding two accent walls. It's a nice way to bring a lot of color into a room without it being too much.
These days a combination of leek green (i don't know the name of that color in English. It's a lite green like the leek vegetable) and a dark purple would do magic for your room. If you want i can send you a picture of my room as i painted it.





I've also chosen to put a tapestry on one of the walls that match this pattern in stripes with a few shades of gray.
Honestly, this might sound cheesy but go to a paint shop and look at the selection. You'll be bound to find a colour you definitely like.





I would suggest Maroon or Dark Orange though. But if you really liked the dark red, just do it better than your friend ;)
I am painting my room blue, actually tomorrow. It's going to be a tidewater blue, which has more of a green tint to it; but it is still very blue. It is very calming and relaxing, and not girly.

You could do your room purple, but more of a dark purple. perhaps eggplant purple, or neon purple. My room is bright purple and does not look girly at all. To help, you could always get black sheets or a black comforter.
Red causes insomnia, blue is a very calming color, and a green would go good in a room as well, it helps you concentrate.

or maybe do two walls that, and two walls that dark red. they'd go really well together :)
do one wall in red, leaving the rest white and cover the other walls in posters of your favourite bands and what not!





Or do one wall dark purple and the other red!

Navy blue is really cool, with some posters. Pink actually relaxes people because it looks soft and stuff. Purple is cool, green, or any other color that would look good dark.
