It would depend on the feel you want for the room. If it is a smaller room you would want to go with a lighter color because it will make the room seem larger. If the room is large you could go with a darker color. I would suggest maybe a light brown. Going with a neutral color is always a good idea just in case you move or you change the decor of the room.
really any color you like, I would probably find a light tan color if it was me, go to lowes or homedepot and grab a bunch of samples and take them home, you would be suprised at the way the lighting in a room will change the appearance of the color you choose.
Maybe stripe it with both the dark blue and brown with thin light brown strips in between the two.
