I think it would look terrific if you to paint your living room a darker color like ';less brown'; (# 6040). It will make the lighter bedding stand out.

I would suggest a very pale yellow for your walls or else a very light blue. Both are calming because of the softness I recommended. And neither will make your room appear smaller than it actually is. Your bedding choice sounds very pretty. Good luck with your room!
